The ICC is a cornerstone of modern international trade, being the world’s largest business organization. Founded in 1919 in Paris, it brings together companies, associations, and chambers of commerce from more than 100 countries, acting as a global network to facilitate negotiations that take place in international trade.

Among its main areas of activity, we highlight the creation of Global Rules and Standards and Arbitration and Dispute Resolution.

𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀: 🌍

 One of ICC’s most important contributions is the development of the 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙨®, which globally define good commercial practices, ensuring the rights and obligations of all parties involved in contracts for sales, transportation, insurance, and financing.

⚖️𝗔𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

 The ICC also plays a key role in arbitration, representing the private sector in international forums such as the UN, WTO, and G20, defending fair and sustainable trade rules and practices. Through its International Court of Arbitration—one of the most respected institutions in the field—it directly contributes to resolving commercial disputes, offering fast and reliable solutions that bring credibility and trust to negotiations.

♟️ 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁:

 The ICC also promotes ESG practices, compliance, digitalization, and sustainability across global value chains.

Within international trade negotiations, the use of ICC rules significantly reduces the risks of disputes and uncertainties between companies from different countries, promoting alignment among companies, governments, and multilateral institutions, and giving greater visibility and competitiveness to businesses that base their agreements on these standards.
